Replacement Conservatory Roofs
Our Multi chamber polycarbonate is the most cost effective way to revamp your old conservatory roof, feel the benefits of improved insulation all year round. We have a number of different options depending on budget and size. The new high performance glass can reflect up to 78% of the suns heat and offers U values as low as 0.8 which is very insulative. Feel the benefits of a warmer room in winter and a cooler one in summer.
The glass on our roofs is self cleaning meaning your roof will maintain its beauty without any hassle. This is due to the thin layer of titanium dioxide that prevent dirt sticking to it and water droplets from forming due to its incredibly smooth nature.
10-year manufacturer’s guarantee.
Classic windows tailor made to your exact specifications.

Our conservatory roofs are fitted with a UV filter to help break down organic dirt over time which will be washed off by the rain. Can I replace my conservatory roof with a tiled roof?
If you have had a glass or polycarbonate roof on your conservatory for a while, you might want to mix things up and see if you prefer having a tiled roof. Although tiled roofs sound like they are going to be heavy, these roofs are impressively light — more so than most classic glass roofs. If you want to replace your conservatory roof with a tiled roof, we’ll need to come over to your property to check that your existing structure has the relevant support in place. Usually there aren’t any issues and we can go ahead with the replacement.
We can make tiled roofs to the size of your conservatory and even install roof windows if you’d like to leave in some glass. Also, some great news — if your current conservatory meets current building regulations, you will not have to apply for any more planning permission.
Do I need to replace my conservatory roof?
Conservatory roofs don’t come with a best-before date. Many factors can affect your roof over time and will contribute to it needing to be repaired. Every roof will age differently depending on where it is situated, the quality of the materials it was made from, and what it is frequently exposed to.
You might start to notice signs of age or damage when your conservatory is around 15 years old. If you notice these signs, it might be time to replace your conservatory roof:
- Moss or algae growing on the roof
- Reduced energy efficiency
- Increased noise pollution
- Draughts or cold spots
Whether you think you need a replacement conservatory roof or are still unsure, contact us today — we’d be happy to help.
Does insulating a conservatory roof work?
If your current conservatory roof doesn’t do a very good job at retaining heat, you might find yourself wanting to insulate it.
We don’t offer this service at AGS as it’s not very efficient and doesn’t last long. If you’re experiencing insulation issues your roof might be getting old and we’d recommend getting a new one. Browse our range and choose between a roof with thermally efficient glass or a tiled roof. At AGS, you can be reassured by our 10-year manufacturer’s warranty (although your roof will probably last a lot longer than this).

What is the best roof for a conservatory?
We are lucky that advances in construction technology has given us lots of different roof material options to use in our conservatories.
While you might have heard that polycarbonate is a cheap option, it doesn’t last very long, so we wouldn’t recommend it. We suggest considering a toughened glass roof which is much more durable. If you’re concerned about insulation, we can treat the glass to enhance its insulative properties and also to reduce glare from the sun.
A tiled roof is another option that gives you a little more shade and increased heat efficiency. This won’t mean that you’ll be sitting in the dark, as we can install a lantern roof or roof windows to bring in more light and make the most out of sunny days. We will have to inspect your structure to check that this is all possible, but we don’t usually encounter issues.
